To be a flamingo

April 20 – June 9, 2024
Arjun Lal

Something is changing. In my body I have had a longing for other ways of being. A deep yearning to experience how it might feel to break apart my form and rebuild it. Expediting my surface attempting to satisfy a hunger for self-discovery. How might it feel to be a flamingo?

This exhibition is part of the 2023-2024 Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program at McMaster University School of the Arts. Curated by Adrien Crossman, the 2023-2024 AIR program includes four Queer and Trans artists from across Turtle Island whose practices rely heavily on material exploration, weaving form and concept within the framework of Queer / Trans histories and aesthetics.
